A Corn and Acorn

The seeds were sown:
A corn and Acorn
In a matter of days
A corn had yielded fruit
Acorn was no where to be seen;

Days turned to months:
A corn had become a field
Generating in thousand folds
Seeds, promises and futures
Yet Acorn was just a tree with no fruit;

Months turned to years
A corn prospered anywhere
Flowing with the winds
Acorn managed to become a still, strong trunk
With nothing more than a few buds of flowers;

Just when everyone thought
There was no hope for Acorn
A hundred years or more
Acorn was scattered everywhere
With seeds so rich, plenty and beautiful.

In due season, Acorn yielded fruit.

Speaking of seeds: A seed is a miracle waiting to happen [1]. The embryo comes pre-packaged with a food supply and the vital genetic information needed to become a plant just like its parents. Seeds once sown exist in a state of dormancy (period from when the seed is sown to when it germinates). During this period they absorb oxygen, give off carbon dioxide, and slowly using up their stored food reserves. During this process the seed continually monitors the external environment waiting for ideal conditions specific for the particular seed. Once the ideal conditions occur, the seed breaks dormancy and germinates. A corn and acorns have different periods of dormancy. So does every other seed.

You may have sown seeds: seeds of time, seeds of money, seeds of love, seeds of life or seeds of faith. You are expecting to see your seed yield fruit. Your seed is indeed a miracle about to happen. And in due season, you will reap the fruit of what you have sown.

For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His name's sake… [Hebrews 6:10, AMP]. So do not lose heart and grow weary in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season you shall reap, if you do not loosen and relax your courage and faint [Paraphrased from Galatians 6:9, AMP].

Have a blessed week ahead.

Great write up and comparism...That you are not married yet doesn't mean God has forgotten you nor that you are married but have no kids means he as forgotten you...His ways are not our ways...

There is truly a time and season for everything, all we have to do is sow our seeds and wait on the Lord. I can say I've a harvested recently, and so it's back to the field to sow again.

Thanks Rita........and have a fantastic week!

I like that way this is written.
Thanks for the encouragement.
I sometime feel forgotten...or that I have been 'good for nothing'

I like the "You may have sown seeds: seeds of time, seeds of money, seeds of love, seeds of life or seeds of faith. You are expecting to see your seed yield fruit. Your seed is indeed a miracle about to happen. And in due season, you will reap the fruit of what you have sown".

Thanks for another inspiring piece. I never knew so much as I now know about Corns and Acorns (similar names but different destinies). Seeds are miracles waiting to happen and no matter how long it takes, they’ll yield fruit. All we need is to be sensitive and patient lest we lose hope and lose all. In due season our expectations will definitely come true. Can’t wait for the next piece. Have a wonderful week. PS- I agree with Aphrodite, you should have won the most inspiring blogger award. My vote hardly counted I guess. lol

It's just that sometimes the wait seems soooooo long!

But...but, In Due Season.....there is a due season. Help me to be patient oh Lord!

My seeds whether they be a corn or acorn, they will surely sprout and produce for me a bountiful harvest!

Thanks Rita!

@Geebee: I like the way you add life to my posts through your comments. Thank you. BTW, your vote counted otherwise I would not have got the honour of being nominated. That alone encourages me. Thank you very much.

@Disguisedfeelings: Wow, so much great words for this post…thank you.

@Justdoyin: Thank you.

@Wellsbaba: I guess the room can hardly contain my head with the swelling…thank you and you’re so welcome back…

@Poeticallytinted: Hmm, thank God this post has something to offer.

@Enkay: I totally agree with you…waiting is really our challenge especially when we see those around us easily having what we desire…but when it comes, HE has a way of wiping out every memory of the struggles, thoughts and worries…it will surely come…

@RocNaija: Thank you, and pls enable comments on your blog once again…
There must be some reason why you are hearing this analogy once again :-) lol

@Kafo: What can I say about the waiting period? I recently made a resolve not to count time for myself since I know HE is not counting but rather preparing everything for the right time

@Gee: You’re welcome

@Nefertiti: Thank you…

@Funms-the rebirth: You’re welcome, as for you, everything is settled

The bible has a provision for a seed time and also a time for harvest, that's why i'm sure that for anybody sowing today, there will definitely be a time of harvest. Kudos.

This blew me away. Very apt comparisons. A friend once said we all get to where we want to in the end only at different times cos we take different ways.
