No more Starvation

No more starvation
I was hungry
Starved,
Drained,
Helpless,
I had never felt like this before;
As the days went by
The emptiness grew
The ulcers panged
The cravings cramped,
It was deliberate starvation

I wanted
Not hunted
For as little as a drop
Of food from you
So filling, So refreshing,
All I could ever need;
Yet I managed residual strength
From food months ago
Like it could sustain
What a big risk
When the solution is my action away

My parched lips
Could no longer speak your word
For I had not taken
My daily bread
I had managed a quick grab
Of the icing from your word
But that was never enough
To keep me above the limits of hunger

I was hungry,
Starved,
And drained
From lack of your word
But I cannot take it anymore
Never again will I starve myself
But feed daily to the brim
On your word, with you
And never put anything before you
My first love.

Revelations 2:4-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
4But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love].

5Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God's will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.
