As I listened to a friend's testimony on her health and how she finally got healed, something that touched me was when she said she told God, “Father I am completely helpless. This is where my faith has taken me to. Please help me from here.” I was touched by her sincerity, awareness that her ways could not bring the healing she wanted, and her decision to depend on God totally.
Many years ago I would have called her a 'weak' Christian who, in the light of such a situation, could not fast and pray, cast and bind, or spend time meditating on the word of God. But now I know, from experience, that the presence of some trials is not a measure of how weak or strong we are as Christians. As long as we are in this world, we would face trying situations in one degree or the other. Now I know that our results are not only dependent on how many hours we have spent fasting or praying. We need to understand what God is saying to us about a particular situation and of course, without faith it is impossible to please God.
So I considered the case of 5 people who had headache. One got cured by sleeping it away. The second got cured by speaking the word and the headache left immediately. The third one declared the word, prayed and meditated but it tarried before the physical symptoms associated with the headache left. The fourth took panadol extra and got relief 30 minutes later. The fifth had to go for an operation as the headache was related to something else.
Did they all get cured? Yes. Were they all Christians? Yes. Did they give God the glory? Hopefully. Did they all have faith? Yes (for all have been given a measure of faith) only that their faith were at different levels.
So I ask you today, are you believing God for something? Where is your faith level at the moment? Are you telling God that you trust Him for a miracle yet deep down you don't really believe the miracle could happen? Or are you keeping the appearance of a ‘powerful’ Christian that you cannot tell even your loving Father the truth of where your faith level is? Has your faith been diluted with what other methods are available? Are you at a state of helplessness but would not accept it?
God knows where you are for He searches the heart. Lay aside all pretences. Tell Him in sincerity where you are and do not hesitate to ask for His help. Where you are may not be as a result of complacency, a sin committed in the past, or the length of time you have spent knowing God. You may be where you are because you are overwhelmed by the situation or you were not prepared for it. Your loving Father, Who will not allow you experience a trial you cannot bear, Who will never leave you nor forsake you, knows the steps you need to take to overcome and knows you can have the victory. Don't ask Him to meet you halfway when in truth you are far from starting the journey. Tell Him where you are and He will meet you “fullway”. He will speak to you. He will answer your "why's and how's". He will walk with you and He will teach you what you need to do to increase your faith level to where it should be.
Remain blessed and enjoy the rest of this week.

wow, great reminder on the importance of being honest, not only to yourself but to God. Thanks for the reminder that we are all given a measure of faith Rom 12.3 verse! Stay blessed!
This was a great reminder. I've been waiiting for something and it gets really frustrating as the days have turned into months and the months into years. Sometimes I wonder wheather or not God is really listening to me. Iknow He is, the Bible says He is but sometimes its like He's not.
Psalm 63:9
I shared my heart with a fellow breathen some time last week and was told that I was not a christian because I was overwhelmed by the waiting and the frustratiion that comes with it. (scoffs)
My faith is low, so so low. I'm so tired as well. Maybe I should go from focusing on this thing I've been asking for to asking for strengthed faith and the patience to wait.
@Tendayi:- You're welcome. It was also a lesson for me to be honest with God, just as you put it. Remain blessed.
@Braids: Waiting can be frustrating especially when it seems God is silent. Thank God He is always there.
Going through a trial or feeling overwhelmed does not make you less of a Christian afterall a Christian is a human being. It is good you have identified where you are with your faith. May God strengthen you, give you grace to wait on Him, and give you an added sense of His presence this period.
You will have your testimony.
Been believing God for healing...but deep down, a voice keeps asking me whether I truly believe deep down in my heart...Thnx for sharing this testimony..needed to read this!
@Deep Soul: -Delayed hope makes one sick at heart but when the desire or longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
Acknowledge your faith level and ask God to help you move on from there...
Thank you for following EROLyrics, and welcome to blogsville...
I believe you..
Hmmm...thanks for sharing this. I've been hoping for something and believing but maybe I'm yet to really speak sincerely with God about it. Food for thought...
Thanks my dear. this your message was for me this morning. really trusting God for a miracle but i guess deep inside i am still doubting
Is not by what we do or don't do that GOD acts...HE said, I WILL SHOW MERCY ON WHOM I CHOOSE TO!...so my dear, my life is a testimony that many don't understand expect me because i don't totally follow all the 'etiquettes or principles of christendom...yet, HE is there for me always...like today, i had not prayed this morning but browsing & listening to gospel songs, which am dancing & singing along but i am feeling HIS presence because this is how my spirit-being wants to flow with my FATHER..some would say...that is not right..but the bible says, everyone should work out his /her salvation with trembling & fear...i have my own understanding with my creator....my friend even noticed it because i get solutions to problems when & before i ask, even just thinking about it, brings a solution or a solution is already standing by before the problem comes to meet me!...miraculous ehn?...because my dear, THE GOD OF JEREMIAH & EZEKIEL says I am HIS APPLE OF HIS EYES, A SACRED POSSESSION TO HIM, HENCE I AM HIGHLY FAVOURED, & NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL ME BECAUSE JUST HAS HE HAD CREATED A BORDER AROUND JERUSALEM, HE HAS DONE THE SAME FOR ME & MY FAMILY...AMEN....shalom.!
This post penetrated deep into my inner parts. God has given you a good understanding and God bless you for sharing it with us. Hold on, I need to read it again...
"Have faith in God"; we know the One who is to be the Object of our faith. We don't have faith in our own faith but in the Lord Himself.
this is unbelievable
i have to return and read it over and over again
remain blessed Rita
God is a merciful God! This is shown repeatedly throughout the Bible - Nehemiah portrays how 'constant' He is - ...a nail in a sure place. If we would just utilize that little grain of faith - He will show us mercy and turn His face towards us and walk shoulder to shoulder with us. All He asks is that we keep walking and never give up - He's always on our side. Look up and see the salvation of the Lord. Just walk...it will be OK. God promises a safe Landing, if we put our faith and trust in Him. He is indeed a merciful, gracious, forgiving, sustaining God. He is my everything. He longs to be our EVERYTHING.
blessings, my dear Rita

Neh 9:17 "They refused to listen and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they rebelled and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt! But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and full of unfailing love and mercy. You did not abandon them,
Neh 9:19 But in your great mercy you did not abandon them to die in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud still led them forward by day, and the pillar of fire showed them the way through the night.
Neh 9:27 So you handed them over to their enemies. But in their time of trouble they cried to you, and you heard them from heaven. In great mercy, you sent them deliverers who rescued them from their enemies.
Neh 9:28 "But when all was going well, your people turned to sin again, and once more you let their enemies conquer them. Yet whenever your people cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them repeatedly!
Neh 9:31 But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
